Any material pertaining to Michael Jordan is always a hot commodity that’s why it’s also a target for thieves, who would not hesitate to steal such things when presented with the opportunity.

That was the case for Suzanne Valleau-Schiel, whose daughter, Kelsey Schiel, once owned a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls road uniform autographed by the six-time NBA champion back in 1995. But after the house of Schiel’s grandfather, where the jersey was kept, burned down last month, looters capitalized on the family’s bad luck by stealing their stuff, including the prized Bulls jersey.

The thieves have since been arrested but the jersey has yet to be recovered. It’s likely that the uniform has already been sold before the robbers’ capture.

The good news is that Kelsey immediately got a replacement for his lost Jordan memorabilia thanks to Michael Jordan himself. His Airness' camp heard the news about the burglary and acted quickly to send Kelsey a new one, per Paul Walsh of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

A representative for Jordan said arrangements were underway to get a signed replacement jersey to Kelsey Schiel.

“Michael was very sorry to hear about what happened to the Schiel family and was happy to send Kelsey a new signed jersey,” the representative said.

Here’s Kelsey showing off her new Jordan thread.

Kelsey first met his basketball hero through the Starlight Children's Foundation when she was six and battling a rare disease. She’s gotten over the illness, however, as she’s probably inspired by the NBA legend’s desire to beat any adversity on and off the court.
