One of the biggest questions stemming from the 2019 season was how DK Metcalf fell in the 2019 NFL Draft. Due to being overlooked by other teams, the Seattle Seahawks were able to snag Metcalf with the 64th overall pick.

Before making his way to the NFL, Metcalf instantly became an internet sensation. It all began when a picture of Metcalf partaking in a workout with other rookies surfaced. The immediate reaction was people being shocked that he played wide receiver.

Then, Metcalf proceeded to dominate the NFL Combine in Indianapolis to improve his draft stock. Despite doing everything he possibly could, Metcalf still had to wait until the second round to hear his name called. Many of his doubters pointed at his three-cone drill time as a reason to pass on him.

Without a doubt, the Seahawks are thankful that the other 31 teams decided to overlook the physical wide receiver. When Metcalf arrived in Seattle, he immediately became a viable target for Russell Wilson.

In his rookie season, Metcalf hauled in 58 passes for 900 yards and seven touchdowns. Usually, wide receivers take some time to get on the same page as their quarterback.

But for Metcalf, he continued to grow comfortable in Seattle's offense in a short amount of time. Considering how his rookie season went, how good can Metcalf become for the Seahawks?

DK Metcalf's potential moving forward

During the regular season, Metcalf aced his first test in the NFL as a rookie. Following his impressive regular season, the Ole Miss product carried over his momentum into the playoffs.

In his first career playoff start, Metcalf recorded seven receptions for 160 yards and one touchdown. The 160 receiving yards were the most in NFL history for a wide receiver making his first start in the playoffs.
