The challenge between Ice Cube and LaVar Ball finally happened on Sunday inside the Staples Center.

With the Big3 in town for their Week 8 action, the CEO of Big Baller Brand was courteous enough to accept the league founder’s invitation to grace their visit at the Los Angeles Lakers' home court, and also for the fans in attendance to witness their 4-point shootout.

The rules were simple as 90 seconds were put on the clock and whoever makes more baskets will be declared the winner. While both of them did not particularly do well, Ice Cube still won by a score of 2-1, which had the crowd cheering and enjoying the contest.

It can be recalled that the rapper and actor challenged Ball a few months back, saying if the latter wins over the former, Ice Cube will purchase 10 pairs of the ZO2s, which retail at $495 each. The ex-football pro responded quickly via his Instagram account, accepting the challenge but upped the ante by telling Ice Cube to buy his whole AAU team a pair of the shoes each if he lost.

The showdown between the two on Sunday can easily be considered one of the more exciting shootouts in quite a while involving non-professional athletes. Outside of the entertainment it gave fans, Ball’s performance definitely left a lot of questions to the public, on why he even claimed he can beat some of the NBA greats, as his form and performance on the night leaves a lot to be desired.
