Immortals is seemingly looking to rebuild their League of Legends team with a series of roster changes during this offseason.

Immortals did not put up a good show during the LCS Spring 2022 Split. They ended the group stage dead last, tied at 5 wins 13 losses with TSM. Historically, the org has also not done well since it rejoined the LCS in 2020. IMT made it to playoffs of the LCS Summer 2021 Split, but was eliminated after losing to TSM 1-3. This rebuild shows that the org is not satisfied with the constant bad placements and is making actions towards better performance in the regular season. Over the week, Immortals has released a series of roster changes, as well as some news from less official sources.

The first piece of news is that the team has let go of their previous starting support, Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw. Along with a video tribute, Immortals formally announced that the team will be parting ways with the Australian support. “Thank you for everything you've dedicated to the team since joining in late 2020. From the laughs to the hooks, you've been an unforgettable part of our history and we're wishing you the best in all that you do,” the tweet read. Destiny's next destination is currently unclear and unconfirmed.

Soon after, Destiny's replacement was introduced in the form of Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun. Immortals tweeted a montage video of the Korean support, captioned “The hook king is making his much-anticipated return to the LCS.” IgNar was unable to find a team for the LCS Spring 2022 after parting ways with Evil Geniuses January this year. This signing reunites IgNar with mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage. The two first played together under the banner of FlyQuest, wherein they qualified for the 2020 World Championship. Unfortunately their stay was short-lived, as they were unable to make it out of their group. IgNar has been a mainstay in the professional League of Legends scene, starting his career in 2015 as a member of LCK team KT Rolster before being imported into a team in what was then known as the EU LCS (now LEC). IgNar would go on to play for another LCK team, then another LEC team, before settling in NA.

The last piece is currently unconfirmed. According to Upcomer, Immortals is looking to pair their newly-found support with Lawerence “Lost” Sze Yuy Hui. What this would mean for either Jason “Wildturtle” Tran and Noh “Arrow” Dong-hyeon is unknown. Neither IMT nor Lost's current team, Golden Guardians, have made an official announcement to confirm this move. Lost was put on the radar after his performance in TSM Academy in 2020, after which he was promoted to be on the starting lineup for TSM for a whole year. During the two splits that Lost was playing in the LCS for TSM, the team placed 3rd and 4th. Lost seems to have lost (get it?) some of this luster during his stay in Golden Guardians. If Immortals do decide to sign Lost and pair him with a solid support and lane partner like IgNar, maybe we can see a glimpse of TSM Lost once again.

As a bonus, Immortals has also reported the departure of their jungler Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir and is yet to announce a replacement.

As of now, the currently confirmed Immortals lineup for LCS Summer 2022 Split is the following:

  • Top lane: Mohamed “Revenge” Kaddoura
  • Mid lane: Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage
  • Support: Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun
