Nick Foles' wife, Tori, is the person who decided the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback should return to his new team so soon after she suffered a miscarriage.  At practice on Friday, Foles explained that is was Tori who first suggested it was time for him to continue offseason training with his teammates.

“If my wife needed me at home right now, I'd be at home. That's just me being honest,” he said, per ESPN's Michael DiRocco. “She's the one who said, ‘Go, the team needs you right now.' She knows I'm coming home right away [after practice]. So that's her. It really is as simple as that.”

Tori Foles announced in a Wednesday Instagram post that she had gone into premature labor on Sunday night, after only 15 weeks of pregnancy, and been hospitalized. Her husband publicly announced in April that the couple were expecting their second child.

Nick Foles was absent for the Jaguars' offseason team activity on Tuesday, returning to team headquarters on Thursday. He says he returns home to Tori and their young daughter in between practice sessions. The 2018 Super Bowl MVP raved about his wife's unwavering strength throughout her pregnancy, especially as it relates to additional health complications of POTS, a chronic illness that affects blood circulation.

“She's way stronger than I'll ever be,” he said of Tori, per ESPN. “She's gone through so much, and people don't realize it. … She was bedridden, hospitals. She battles that every single day.

“We've gone through so much this past couple of years. We're going through this now, but she's so strong. She's unbelievable.”

Foles, 30, signed a four-year, $88 million contract with Jacksonville in March.
