The return of Tim Tebow was one of the storylines that had the NFL buzzing this offseason. But just as soon as fantasies of a career revival brewed, the Jacksonville Jaguars cut those dreams short.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported the news that the Jaguars had cut Tim Tebow:
Tebow was beyond grateful for the opportunity, and preceded the official report with a heartfelt message to the fans and the Jaguars organization as a whole.
“Thankful for the highs and even the lows, the opportunities, and the setbacks,” wrote Tebow. “I’ve never wanted to make decisions out of fear of failure and I’m grateful for the chance to have pursued a dream…”
“Thank you to the Jaguars organization and everyone who has supported me in this journey. And we know that…God works all things together for good. Romans 8:28″
The Jaguars took a relatively low-risk gamble on the former prized quarterback, and it looks like it didn't pay off. But safe to say the future is still bright in Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence now in the fold.
As for Tim Tebow, this probably won't be the last we'll hear about him, whether in NFL news or something else. But for now, his run with the Jaguars is over.
