Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Travis Etienne suffered a foot injury early in Monday night's 23-21 loss to the New Orleans Saints. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Etienne will be out indefinitely with a midfoot sprain and will undergo further testing to determine just how long he'll be out. The youngster was seen wearing a protective boot after the game, in which he had just one carry for a single yard to go along with a 3-yard catch.

NFL Network's Ian Rapaport added Tuesday morning that Etienne suffered a Lisfranc injury and was on crutches. Rapaport also noted that X-rays were negative and reiterated that the tests done Tuesday will give the Jaguars a better idea of how long they'll be without the first-round pick. ESPN's Stephania Bell says the recovery time for midfoot sprains can vary rather widely.

Jacksonville drafted Etienne with the No. 25 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Etienne played his college football at Clemson, where he was a teammate of top overall pick Trevor Lawrence. The 22-year-old finished his college career as the ACC's all-time leading rusher as part of Clemson's dominant offensive attack.

As for Lawrence, he had a rather nondescript night with 113 yards passing on 14 completions out of 23 attempts. He did also have one 9-yard carry but didn't throw a touchdown or interception.
