The Jacksonville Jaguars' offense received most of the shine in the first half against the Tennessee Titans. However, the defense has decided to make the second half all their own with their hounding pressure on quarterback Marcus Mariota.

The Jaguars nearly managed to get the ball back thanks to a strip-sack by outside linebacker Josh Allen, via NFL on Twitter:

This was the third time that the Jaguars manage to bring Mariota down in the third quarter. The other two had been recorded by defensive ends Calais Campbell and Dawuane Smoot earlier. It is safe to say that this defensive front has finally started to lend credence to the nickname ‘Sacksonville' to start the season.

It is undoubtedly encouraging to see this team clicking on all cylinders given their tumultuous start to the season. The offense appeared to be in a state of flux once quarterback Nick Foles landed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone. Meanwhile, the cornerback Jalen Ramsey's future in Jacksonville is reportedly on the verge of coming to an end after this week.

Fortunately, the Jaguars have shown plenty of resiliency thanks to the emergence of quarterback Gardner Minshew following a historic performance against the Titans. Their pass rush has also shown flashes of returning to their elite form from a few years ago.

With Ramsey expected to leave in the near future, the onus will undoubtedly fall on their defensive front to pick up the slack. Performances like these indicate that they are more than up to the task.
