The Utah Jazz’s 11-game winning streak ended on Sunday after a 128-117 loss to the Denver Nuggets after Nikola Jokic had a huge 47-point outing.

Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell was frustrated after the loss, and for good reason, as the Jazz waited too long to cut into the deficit (via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune).

The Jazz certainly didn’t play their best, he’s right about that. Still, they fought hard and pulled within single digits late in the third quarter before Jokic and company put the game away.

Mitchell was probably upset at himself too, after scoring just 13 points on a 3-of-12 night from the field and five turnovers. Mike Conley added 12 points on a dismal 2-for-10 clip and the Jazz couldn’t contain Jokic on the defensive end by any means.

Jokic scored 33 in the first half, and it seemed like he was easily going to get to 50, as the Jazz defense had to do better than that. Still, Mitchell insisted “the world isn’t ending.” However, Mitchell and the Jazz need to find a way to beat the Nuggets, especially if they match up in the playoffs.

The Jazz were alone at the top of the Western Conference this weekend, and they are out to prove that they are there to stay and can compete with the best of the West, and beating the Nuggets, Lakers, and Clippers is going to be necessary if they want to make it to the conference finals.

The Jazz will head back home and take on the Detroit Pistons, who just beat the Lakers a few days ago, so don’t underestimate them.
