Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo had nothing but praise for the Utah Jazz after they lost to the Jazz, 129-115. According to Eric Woodyard of ESPN, Antetokounmpo appreciated how the Jazz was playing as a unit and that they are the “best team in the West”:
“It just looks fun. Like when I watch them play, it looks fun, it looks easy,” Antetokounmpo said. “It looks simple. For sure, they look like us last year, and man, when you're at that point and you're playing with that confidence, you're hard to beat for sure.”
Members of the Jazz have instilled a mentality of humility in their quest for a championship. Donovan Mitchell expressed his views on the Jazz's performance this season, as reported by Woodyard:
“We don't want to be the best team in February; we want to be the best team in July,” Mitchell said.
Woodyard also captured how head coach Quin Snyder feels about the Jazz's success and how his players have transformed into championship-level personnel:
“Nobody is beating their chest about anything that we've done…Frankly you never want to do that and it's never appropriate unless you're the last team standing. That's something we'll continue to try to avoid,” Snyder said.
As the great Kobe Bryant once said, “What's there to be happy about?… The job's not finished.” The end goal is apparent for the Jazz, and they will let their Mamba Mentality lead them to the Finals. Mitchell and Gobert will ensure the Jazz will not fall short this season, as they will settle for nothing less than a championship.
