On Thursday, the NBA announced that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was selected as a Western Conference All-Star. Moments later, Evan Fournier congratulated Gobert by tweeting a hilarious picture of him.

Fournier and Rudy Gobert have had an extremely close relationship ever since they were 13 years old. They've met each other at a tournament for youth basketball players located in France. So it's not unusual for both of them to joke around about each other.

Gobert has played phenomenal this season averaging 15.7 points, a career-high 15.3 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks. The 27-year-old is also putting up a career-high field goal percentage (68.6%).

Gobert has also played outstanding defense this season. The 7-foot-1 Frenchman has made numerous game-winning defensive plays for the Jazz this season.

He's played a vital role in Utahs' success this season leading them to a 32-15 record. The two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year has also earned a $1 million bonus for making the All-Star team.

Last season, Gobert was emotional after being snubbed from the All-Star game. He was the first person in NBA history to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award multiple times without being named to an All-Star team.

The Jazz are currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference, 4.5 games behind the top-seeded Los Angeles Lakers. They have played tremendously well these past few months winning their last 19 of 23 games.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James will be the two team captains for the 2020 All-Star Player Draft. The NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 16th.
