A big reason why veteran forwards Jeff Green and Ed Davis signed with the Utah Jazz in free agency is because of the presence of point guard Mike Conley.

Both Green and Davis say Conley has “no ego,” is a good person on and off the court, and a guy who will do whatever it takes to win.

“He’s a guy who fights for his team, loves his team, supports his teammates,” Green said, via Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune. “A guy with no ego who’s gonna play hard every night and try to win.”

“There’s no ego, he’s just a good person all the way around. He’ll come in every day and there’s no bulls— with him. You can’t do nothing but respect that,” Davis said. “He definitely gave me the confidence that this team was ready, so that helped out a lot for me. He’s one of the reasons why I made my decision so quick.”

The Jazz are considered by many as title contenders after the moves they made this summer. Along with acquiring Mike Conley, Jeff Green and Ed Davis, the Jazz also signed Bojan Bogdanovic and Emmanuel Mudiay.

Utah now has a solid core headlined by Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanovic. Look for the Jazz to make a lot of noise in 2019-20.
