The Utah Jazz are out of the NBA playoffs and into an offseason full of uncertainty. It's clear that something has to change for Utah to become a true contender with Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert and Quin Snyder.

After eight years coaching the Jazz, it could be Snyder who leaves. According to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, Snyder declined a contract extension last offseason and The Athletic's Sam Amick reports that Snyder has not been sold on continuing to coach. He will exhaust all his options this offseason, whether that be with the Jazz, another team or no team.

Although a big change may occur, Snyder is in good standing with the Jazz. According to The Athletic's Tony Jones, the players and front office still respect him.

Sources say his status will be dealt with one way or the other in the coming days and weeks. Snyder has been one of the best coaches in the league over the last eight seasons. According to sources, he still very much has not lost the locker room, or the respect of his players.

Sources also indicate the Jazz’s front office has been happy, overall, with his work. At the same time, there has been significant speculation regarding his future.

Utah will need more than a coaching change to improve. It may require trading Mitchell and/or Gobert to reshuffle the roster. The Jazz have established themselves as a playoff team but not an elite one. Quin Snyder, the angry-faced tactician behind the team's success, has developed his team into a well-oiled machine. He just needs improved parts to make it work better in the NBA playoffs.
