Utah Jazz defensive stalwart Rudy Gobert is one of the most intimidating figures in the NBA. Not just because of his towering 7-foot presence but also his elite defense and shot blocking that will leave you thinking twice about making even the easiest of baskets.

You can say that the reigning Defensive Player of the Year handles the dirty blue collar work for the Jazz. Something that he takes pride on — the physicality of the rebounding and defending is no easy task. For the Frenchman, you may say he welcomes and indulges in these kinds of difficulties on the court.

According to Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake Tribune, Gobert has a pretty lofty career goal in mind. Greatness is what he seeks.

“I definitely want to be one of the best players in the history of the game… I think I haven’t scratched the potential that I can have and the things I can do on both ends.”

On the topic of winning it all, he replied:

“Everyone’s different. I take a lot of pride of when you build something. I'd rather do it the hard way than do it the easy way, It's not just getting a ring, because if I just want to get a ring I just go the jewelry store and get a ring. What’s most important is the story behind it.”

Hard work and talent definitely will get you in the right places, with Gobert possessing both, it will not be a surprise if he goes ballistic with the Jazz this season.
