“Inside the NBA” analyst Shaquille O'Neal made waves when he told Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell to his face during an interview on TNT that he has questions about the 24-year-old being able to take his game to the next level. The awkward interview ended with Mitchell responding with a short answer, “Aight.”

Artist Cal So Scoped was quick to create a Photoshopped image of Mitchell dunking on O'Neal, which apparently triggered the legendary big man on social media.

After seeing the picture get publicly posted on Instagram, O'Neal sent a direct message to the artist saying “shut yo dumb ass up,” per Sporting News.

Aside from Mitchell, another Jazz player in Rudy Gobert has also found himself on the receiving end of tirades from O'Neal. The Frenchman was blasted for not producing the numbers expected from a player who landed a lucrative five-year, $205 million contract extension during the offseason. The center is averaging 12.1 points and 13.5 rebounds on the season, but he has never been known for his scoring and is a player whose impact goes beyond the box score thanks to his elite defense.

Interestingly enough, Shaq's latest rants drew some harsh words from Kevin Durant and LeBron James, who didn't seem to take kindly to the constant criticism of the current generation of stars in the NBA.

Donovan Mitchell isn't the first player to receive criticism from O'Neal, and he certainly won't be the last. Hopefully, the Jazz star will draw motivation from his previous engagement with the Hall of Famer and ultimately prove that he can elevate his game to lead his team to greater heights.

As of right now, Mitchell is certainly doing a good job of that. The star guard is on a tear for a red-hot Jazz team that has won eight games in a row.
