Dwyane Wade has seen it all in his decorated NBA career, but sometimes, he’s just not going to get that old-man respect he deserves.

On Saturday night, Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell made Wade a prop to his masterpiece when he lost the 35-year-old shooting guard with a series of spectacular moves during the first quarter of a game between the Jazz and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mitchell did a fine job lulling Dwyane Wade before pulling off a double-crossover move. And just to make sure that Wade’s brittle knees would not have any chance of catching him, Donovan Mitchell followed up his crossover with a hop step that allowed him to get off an unchallenged layup attempt.

Wade is one of the best defenders of all-time at the shooting guard position, but keeping up with a confident, athletic, and much younger hotshot in Mitchell is not ever going to be an easy task for a 35-year-old. Selected 13th overall in this year’s NBA Draft by Utah via the Denver Nuggets’ draft rights, Mitchell has rapidly become the Jazz’s best offensive weapon. Donovan Mitchell entered the Cavs game leading his team in scoring with 17.9 per game.

Dwyane Wade should just be thankful that he did not fall to the floor because we know double-crossovers can be pretty devastating to defenders.
