The Jamal Adams situation has become a pressing issue for many New York Jets fans. His dissatisfaction over the Jets' seemingly behind-the-back approach of trading him has put a strain on the relationship between the running back and the organization.

However, Gase was quick to douse any flames regarding the situation. He told the press that they're blowing the situation a lot more than it needs to be and that he really finds him an important part of the team's future.

Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith recounted what the coach said to the press.

“Yeah, I feel like you guys are making it a little bigger than what it was,” Gase said. “We talked Sunday, we talked Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. For me, I was moved on. I told him, I was like, ‘Man, just keep trying to lead and play well. Do everything you can to help us win.'”

However, it's important to point out that it's Adams who first made the declaration on his Twitter page. He sent fiery messages to the franchise.

“Any reports of me asking to be traded from the New York Jets are completely false,” Adams tweeted.

Despite the whole trade saga, Adams and the team have seemingly ironed things out after a conversation with CEO Christopher Johnson and are back on the same page, which is a promising development.

Adams is one of the best young safeties in the league and figures to play a big part in the Jets returning to prominence. He has played eight games for the Jets this season, netting 43 tackles, one interception that resulted in a pick-six, five pass deflections, and a sack.
