The New York Jets already landed their featured running back this offseason, making one of the biggest splashes in free agency by signing Le'Veon Bell to a four-year deal.

Now, however, they are looking for some depth at the position, which is why they brought in Spencer Ware for a visit on Wednesday, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN NFL Nation.

Ware spent the 2018 campaign with the Kansas City Chiefs, playing in 13 games and rushing for 246 yards and a couple of touchdowns while averaging 4.8 yards per carry. In addition, he hauled in 20 receptions for 224 yards.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at LSU, was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round (194th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

He appeared in just two contests for the Seahawks during his rookie campaign, logging just 10 yards on three carries. He then proceeded to sign with the Chiefs that ensuing offseason, but did not play at all in 2014.

Ware made his first appearance for Kansas City in 2015, participating in 11 games and totaling 403 yards and six scores on the ground while tallying an impressive 5.6 yards per attempt.

Then, the following season, Ware became the Chiefs' No. 1 running back, racking up 921 yards while reaching the end zone three times. Plus, he caught 33 passes for 447 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

However, Ware ended up tearing his PCL in preseason the next year, so he missed the entire 2017 campaign.

The Jets are coming off of a season in which they won just four games.
