Jamal Adams has played 32 games in his career and has only come away victorious in nine of them and he knows that isn't good enough for the New York Jets fans. Speaking after a voluntary minicamp session Adams talked about how important the practices are because the team is embracing a win now type of mentality.

“Obviously we’re in New York. This is a win-now type of mentality and that’s how we’re taking it,” Adams told reporters following a voluntary minicamp session via the Team Website. “We have to keep stacking the days and keep working out and I think we’ll be fine.”

Adams has been one of the bright spots for the Jets the last few years even when most of the team struggled. Last year he was voted the team MVP after racking 112 tackles with 13 of those resulting in a loss. He was also voted to his first Pro Bowl. As impressive as he has been so far he knows that he also has to improve if the team wants to take that big step forward.

“Just getting better at everything. That’s how I look at it. I don’t put a limit on myself,” he said. “Obviously I want to become a better teammate, a better person off the field and even on as far as communicating and reading. And as far as my eyes, having a step before the snap. Just getting better at everything – that’s what I think I’m focused on.”

Adams is a good building piece for this defense and if the rest of the team steps up, this team could be a surprise in the AFC.
