New York Jets running back Le'Veon Bell did not play in his team's win over the Miami Dolphins due to the flu, but apparently, he had a late-night bowling session that same day.

Bell's decision to go bowling in spite of missing the game with an illness was brought up to Jets head coach Adam Gase on Tuesday, and while Gase said he would not discipline Bell, he said that it wasn't exactly a good look:

To be fair to Bell, Gase said that doctors told the team that Bell was still contagious, which was why the Jets instructed Bell not to come to the hotel where the club was staying as not to infect other players.

However, it seems pretty clear that Gase was none too pleased with the optics of Bell's bowling trip, as the head coach added it was something he would discuss with the halfback.

The problem here is that Gase does not have much of a leg to stand on.

It has seemed pretty clear since New York signed Bell to a four-year deal back in March that Gase, a passing aficionado, wants little to do with Bell and has under-utilized him as a result.

While Bell has remained mum on his lack of touches for most of the year, he admitted this past week that his shoddy production is a direct result of his limited playing time.

The three-time Pro Bowler has rushed for just 589 yards and three touchdowns while averaging a meager 3.2 yards per carry this season.

A report also surfaced on Tuesday stating that the Jets could look to trade Bell this offseason.
