The New York Jets are signing wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. In a corresponding move, the team has waived wide receiver, J.J. Jones.

Formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, Adeboyejo has played one game as a pro, in 2017. Before then, he played with the Ole Miss Rebels. In four seasons of SEC play, he caught 106 passes for 1,454 yards and 11 touchdowns. He signed with the Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2017.

In 2018, Adeboyejo was on the physically unable to perform list for the entirety of the season with a leg injury.

At the 2017 NFL Combine, Adeboyejo measured in at 6-foot-3 and 197-pounds. He recorded a 4.42 second 40-time, eight bench press reps, 34.5-inch vertical, 123-inch broad jump, 6.73-second three-cone-drill, and 4.14 second 20-yard-shuttle.

As a draft prospect, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein described his strengths, saying,

“Height and speed are appealing. Operated outside and from the slot at Ole Miss. Has access to another gear. On go routes, uses basic head nods and jab steps to create hesitation in defensive backs before racing past them.

“Has been able to get over the top of most defenders he's faced. Coaches compliment his on-field intelligence. Three-time honor roll student off the field. Combination of quick feet and long strides provide opportunities for big catch-and-run plays on the next level.”

As for Jones, the Jets signed him onto their practice squad in late October of 2018 after a release by the Los Angeles Chargers. In 2018, he returned five punts for 24 yards and took two offensive snaps; both against the New England Patriots in their season closer.
