New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson addresses the live fans booing at him during his poor showing against the New England Patriots.

Zach Wilson had to deal with the savage reactions from the crowd during his second career start for the Jets.

The rookie quarterback ultimately played a terrible game against the Patriots, tossing four interceptions and failing to run the Jets’ offense to a touchdown. As a result, fans in attendance at the MetLife Stadium didn’t hold back in letting Wilson know about their disappointment and began “booing” him.

To everybody’s surprise, Wilson acknowledged the fans’ negative reactions and emphasized that they deserved to “see good football.”

“They should be disappointed,” Wilson said of Jets fans booing after the game via Total Pro Sports. “I thought our defense played well. They deserve to see good football. We work our butts off to be able to come in here and play well and it’s so tough when we don’t do that.”

“I’m not paying attention to it, but they should be booing,” he continued. “We didn’t play well on offense. Our defense gave us a chance to win and we didn’t execute, we didn’t move the ball well, we didn’t score any points. We have to do a better job there.”

Overall, Wilson finished 19-33 for 210 yards. However, his four interceptions resulted to the Jets losing chances to get their offensive rhythm going.

Commenting on Wilson’s tough game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh stressed that the youngster should learn how to deal with “a boring game.”

“It’s just having confidence that it’s ok to play a boring game of football. That’s really it,” Saleh said of Wilson postgame. “He is an electric dude and he’s competitive as crap and he wants to win so bad, But sometimes it’s OK to be boring. That’s probably the biggest lesson from this one.”
