The New York Jets have been frustrated with sitting in mediocrity for so long and are hoping to make a big addition or two to their roster this coming offseason. One player that they have been heavily connected to is Pittsburgh Steelers' impending free agent running back Le'Veon Bell.

While the Jets would be a perfect fit for Bell, they may not be willing to spend the money to get him.

According to a report from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets are not going to “break the bank” in order to sign Bell. That is exactly what Bell is searching for.

Le’Veon Bell would be the weapon that Sam Darnold desperately needs, but it’d be foolish to believe that he’s a slam dunk to land in green-and-white. The Jets will not break the bank in free agency for the dynamic playmaker, according to sources.

Bell wants to be one of the highest-paid players in the entire NFL. He wants to be paid for his abilities both as a running back and a wide receiver. Not many teams are going to be willing to make that happen for him.

If Bell is willing to tone down his asking price a bit, the Jets could very well make a play for him.

Sam Darnold is a talented quarterback and new head coach Adam Gase is excited to get to work with him. Adding in a proven star like Bell would give them a weapon that can take pressure off of the young quarterback.

Expect to see the Jets show interest in Bell, but if his asking price remains where it is, they aren't going to be the team that overpays.
