Miami Heat All-Star big man Bam Adebayo was quick to take the blame for his team's Game 5 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday. After hearing about Adebayo's post-game admission, Heat forward Jimmy Butler came to the defense of his teammate.

According to Butler, he does not agree with Adebayo's assessment after the defeat:

It was indeed a disappointing performance all-around for the Heat on Friday, as they failed to close out the series against a no-quit Boston side. They had a golden opportunity at their hands, but it just did not turn out to be their evening. The Celtics emerged with a huge victory, 121-108, as they have now live to fight another day.
Adebayo finished with just 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting, to go with eight rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and a block in 38 minutes of action. For his part, Butler logged 17 points on 5-of-11 from the floor, with eight boards, and eight assists, a steal, and a block. Clearly, both guys did not exactly have a terrible time on the floor, but they were still unable to lift their side to victory on Friday.
The good news for Miami here is that they still hold a significant 3-2 lead in the series. This is theirs to lose at this point, with the Heat just one win away from booking their place in the NBA Finals. Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday, and Miami are hoping that that will be the last game of what has been a compelling series between two very determined sides.
