The Cincinnati Bengals hit the figurative lottery when they drafted Joe Burrow with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. After all, he has been everything the team could have hoped for in the first four weeks of the season.

Cincinnati currently has 1-2-1 record, but their two losses were by a combined eight points. Burrow has been fantastic, even setting a rookie record by throwing for over 300 yards in three straight games.

On the daily Locked On Bengals Podcast, hosts Jake Liscow and James Rapien declared that Burrow is already the best player on the Cincinnati roster.

Jake: There are small things, of course, that Joe Burrow needs to get better at. He's a rookie quarterback who's played four games in the NFL, and nobody's blaming him for having some things that need to improve. I think everyone is on the same page when I said yesterday that I think, Joe burrow is that I think Joe Burrows is already the best player on the Cincinnati Bengals.

Depending on what you think about the Bengals, that statement may not even seem like a stretch. This team still does employ two-time All-Pro Geno Atkins, seven-time Pro Bowler AJ Green, two-time Pro Bowler Carlos Dunlap, DJ Reader, and emerging star Joe Mixon.

However, it is incredible praise considering Burrow is a rookie quarterback playing behind a bad offensive line — all without a preseason to prepare and after one of the most abnormal offseason's the NFL has ever seen. The fact that he's this good without any of that is notable.
