Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced Tuesday that he is ending the mask mandate in Texas and is fully reopening the state. In response to Abbott's questionable decision, Josh Hart — along with other athletes — are stepping in to call out Abbott on social media.

Hart didn't mince words in his response:

Hart hasn't been shy from sharing his political stances on certain topics, as he previously questioned those who voted for Donald Trump. Therefore, it isn't a surprise to see Hart express his thoughts on Abbott's controversial choice to reopen the entire state of Texas amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Besides Josh Hart, Myles Turner — who attended the University of Texas and was born in Bedford, Texas — joined the crowd questioning Abbott's decision. Turner is informing people from Texas to continue wearing masks despite the state ceasing their mask mandate moving forward:

Dez Bryant, who is also a native of Texas and played for the Dallas Cowboys earlier in his career, also took to Twitter to say he isn't following Abbott's orders:

With the COVID-19 vaccines rolling out gradually in recent months, there are reasons as to why athletes and other people are questioning Abbott's decision on Tuesday, especially when Texas is one of the most populated states in America and only 6.5% of people in the state have been fully vaccinated.

Josh Hart isn't a native of Texas and hasn't played for a team that resides in the state in his career. That won't stop him from calling out Abbott for making a decision that could have negative effects on the people who do live there.
