Jessica Fields, the sister of new Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Justin Fields, has received a basketball offer from Howard University, per a post on her father Ivant Fields’s Instagram. Fields is a rising senior forward for Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. She's already received offers from the University of Michigan, Seton Hall University, and Clemson University for her phenomenal play. She has also been on unofficial visits to Marquette University and Northwestern University.

Jessica is following in the footsteps of her brother Justin Fields albeit in a different sport. Justin has made a productive career for himself in the NFL. The eldest Fields was selected by the Chicago Bears with the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. After three seasons with the Bears showing flashes of offensive brilliance as a dual-threat quarterback, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fields excelled at Ohio State University after initially committing to play for Georgia in 2018. Justin attended Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia, and was a highly touted five-star prospect.

Jessica, a Georgia Coaches Association All-State pick, has been instrumental in Mount Paran’s three straight Class AA state titles. With over 1,000 career points, 700 rebounds, and 130 blocks, she’s a top prospect in the high school women’s basketball class of 2025.

Jessica Fields's head coach Stephanie Dunn spoke highly of her, saying, “Jessica is a joy to coach as she not only brings skill and God-given talent to the court but she brings a fun and selfless spirit. She has been instrumental in our emergence as one of the top basketball programs in Georgia.”

If Fields chooses to commit to Howard, she’ll join a Lady Bison team that has proven its success over the past few seasons. The squad has reached the MEAC Championship for three consecutive seasons and earned an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2022. She also wouldn't be the only women's basketball player from a famous family to choose to play at an HBCU. Shelomi Sanders, the youngest daughter of Deion Sanders, recently transferred from Colorado to play for Alabama A&M under new head coach Dawn Thornton.
