The Golden State Warriors have been on the losing end these past few weeks, thanks to Draymond Green missing time because of a back injury. Even with Klay Thompson returning to the lineup, opposing squads have found a way to exploit the forward's absence to get a win over them. But while Green has been out, another Warrior has started to catch fire to help steady the ship – Jordan Poole.

After enduring five straight losses earlier this month, Golden State has now won three of their last games. We take a look down below at how Poole factors in all of this and how his rookie card value has shown signs of life once again.

Jordan Poole's last six games

It hasn't been all roses and rainbows for the Warriors since Green went out with an injury at the start of this year. There have been matchups where Stephen Curry would catch fire to carry Golden State to the win while there have been some where he went cold. Just recently, the team went on a six-game losing streak to squads like the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and Denver Nuggets, after going on a nine-game winning spree in early February.

Poole, on the other hand, has made a credible leap in his third year in the NBA. Once, he was just an afterthought in a stacked draft class with the likes of Zion Williamson and Ja Morant in it. But thanks to key players sitting out due to injuries, like Curry and Thompson, the young guard managed to win some minutes and show what he can do on the court.

During his sophomore year, Poole played mostly from the bench by notching 12 points on 43% shooting from the field, 35% from deep, and 88% from the free throw line. But during one particular match against the New Orleans Pelicans, the then-sophomore started and played his mind out. In 33 minutes, the guard posted 38 points on 54/44/90 shooting splits, 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block. This bonkers performance helped the Warriors overcome New Orleans with a 125-122 win.

While his numbers as a sophomore were good, they became better once Poole's third year as a Warrior started. And even though he played again mostly as a reserve, the young guard has been putting in the work by averaging 16.9 points on 45% efficiency from the field, 36% from deep, and a league-leading 92% from the free throw line. He's also making 3.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.

While those numbers look good, his last six games were even a lot better. In a six-game stretch, two of which Poole started, the guard averaged 24.8 points by hitting 60% of his field goals, 57% of his three-pointers, and 93% from the free throw line while making 3.5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.2 steals. During that period, the Warriors went 3-3 with victories against the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Poole's last match against the Bucks was the best of the bunch. In that contest, the guard erupted for 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal in 35 minutes. He connected 56% of his field goals, 50% from downtown, and 100% of all his free throws to help Golden State get the 122-109 win over Milwaukee.

His recent games have generated a good amount of hype for Jordan Poole rookie cards in the hobby. With the trio of Curry, Thompson, and Green approaching the twilight of their careers, collectors are now speculating who can carry the franchise to a new era. After this season is over, the young guard has a good case to present, especially after a great performance against the Bucks.

The state of Jordan Poole rookie cards in the market

While Poole has been hot on the court for the Warriors, his stock in the market has shown otherwise. This short-term movement can be clearly seen in a three-month graph by Card Ladder.

In the data shown above, Poole's PSA 10 Prizm Silver has gone down from $402 to $270. This drop represents a 32.64% decrease from where it was late last year over the course of 45 confirmed sales.

In some ways, this fall can be attributed to the Warriors' recent woes. If Golden State can turn things around, especially when Green comes back, or if Poole manages to play well until the regular season ends, his card value can bounce back a bit.

The verdict on Jordan Poole cards

It's a given that the trio of Curry, Green, and Thompson are going to regress from their primes sooner than later. When that happens, there are going to be some prospects collectors will choose from Golden State. While some will see Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, or James Wiseman as possible replacements, the foremost rookie card to chase here belongs to Poole.

His knack for catching fire on the offensive end looks great for Poole's stock in the card market. If he takes the leap towards becoming a deadly scorer, along with improving on the playmaking and defensive end of the court, the keys to the franchise will be passed on to him. In the event this possibility becomes a reality down the road, expect his rookie card prices to jump up and increase in value.
