It was a night to remember for Sacramento Kings shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic as he led Serbia to a famous victory against Team USA in the FIBA World Cup tournament on Thursday.

Bogdanovic caught fire in this one, torching the Americans for a game-high 28 points (on 10-of-17 shooting), seven three-pointers (!), four rebounds, and six assists in 31 minutes of action, as the Serbians handed Team USA with their second consecutive defeat in two days.

The 27-year-old tried to play down his heroics, though, saying that in his mind, this is nothing but another game.

“It goes in the books,” said Bogdanovic, via ESPN's Brian Windhorst. “But it's just another game.”

Despite his humility, this game will go down in history as a memorable victory for Serbia against mighty Team USA, and surely, this is not one Bogdanovic is going to forget anytime soon.

Bogdanovic has absolutely been killing it throughout this tournament, and this latest outburst is actually just the latest in a string of outstanding performances. In seven appearances for Serbia in the World Cup, the 6-foot-6 shooting guard is averaging 21.7 points (on 54.9 percent shooting), 4.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.1 steals, while also knocking down 4.0 three-pointers per contest on an astounding 51.9-percent clip.

Unfortunately for Bogdanovic and Serbia, they too were eliminated in the quarterfinals, after falling to Argentina 97-87 on Tuesday. Nevertheless, we can fully expect Bogdanovic to be in the running for the tournament's MVP once the World Cup comes to an end.
