Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield had some fun during his conference call with reporters on Tuesday.

The Kings' sharpshooter joked he's going to channel his inner El Chapo and build a tunnel to sneak out of the Orlando bubble without anyone knowing.

In 2015, El Chapo escaped jail through a one-mile tunnel dug in the showers, though he was recaptured in January of 2016.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Buddy Hield was averaging 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists for the Kings. One of the best shooters in the NBA, Buddy was also shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 39.5 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line.

The Kings will be battling it out with the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans and San Antonio Spurs for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference once the “bubble” games begin on July 30. Sacramento will face the Spurs, Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Pelicans (twice), Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers in the eight seeding games.

Hield, who began his NBA career with the Pelicans, has career NBA averages of 15.9 points, 4.2 boards and 2.2 assists. The former Oklahoma Sooner signed a lucrative contract extension with the Kings before the 2019-20 campaign started.

Now, Hield has his eyes set on leading the Sacramento franchise to the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
