The Sacramento Kings' recent decision not to match the Atlanta Hawks' four-year, $72 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic is a clear indication of how the Kings intend to move forward with Buddy Hield. This did not go unnoticed by Hield himself, who appears to be overjoyed with the confidence shown in him by Sacramento's front office.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently revealed that in light of the Bogdanovic decision, the Kings brass still consider Hield to be part of their core, alongside De'Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III. Hield already caught wind of Woj's statement, and unsurprisingly, the 27-year-old is liking this development:

Hield liked a random tweet pertaining to his delight in learning about his stature in Sacramento. Needless to say, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard is more than happy with how the Kings have shown how important he remains to be in the squad.

It is worth noting, however, that it was also recently reported that Sacramento's decision not to match Atlanta's offer sheet on Bogdanovic had a lot to do with Hield's trade value. There reportedly wasn't much interest in the trade market for Hield, which in a way, forced the Kings' hand into rolling with him and letting Bogdanovic walk.

Whatever the case may be, Hield will remain in Sacramento for the long haul. He's been presented with a tremendous opportunity to re-establish himself as one of the team's most important players, and with Bogdanovic out of the way, it appears to be a clear path to glory for the former sixth overall pick.
