With all the drama surrounding the Sacramento Kings right now, head coach Dave Joerger believes that it is important that the team tries to drown out all the outside noise as much as they can in this crucial junction of their season.

Joerger reportedly barred assistant general manager Brandon Williams from the team's shootaround after the latter was identified (allegedly) as the internal source behind a story published by Yahoo! Sports questioning Joerger's current job security.

According to Kings insider Jason Jones, Joerger is trying his best to move past the issue at hand in an attempt to keep his team's focus in check.

“My job is to make sure we are as prepared as we can be for the task in front of us and to try and limit as much distractions as possible with our group.” he said.

“The sunshine on this team and this group of players in our city is as high as it’s been since I’ve been in the NBA from the outside and three years that I’ve been here. Like I said I’m just trying to keep the distraction to a minimum with our group.”

What's interesting here is that Joerger did not openly deny banning Williams from shootaround. This may point to the fact that the coach is actually at war with his assistant GM.

The Kings have been a revelation this season, and a distraction such as this is the last thing they need. Hopefully, they are able to move past this issue sooner rather than later.
