The Scaramento Kings made a bit of noise on Thursday after they made a swoop for now-soon-to-be-former Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Malik Monk. The 24-year-old reportedly agreed to to terms with a Kings on a two-year deal worth $19 million to reunite with former Kentucky teammate De'Aaron Fox in Sacramento.
For his part, though, Fox was put in a bit of hot water on Twitter after questions were raised regarding his input on the Monk deal:
In terms of Fox having input re: Monk the only question that would matter to me there is if better options are passed up. Obviously, that opens the door for valid criticism, on a team known for those kinds of mistakes

A random fan responded to the above tweet accusing Fox of also advocating for Marvin Bagley III, who himself signed a deal with the Detroit Pistons as a free agent on Thursday. Fox caught wind of the allegation and he decided to clap back:

Bagley's stint with the Kings did not really work out as expected, and most fans are just happy to see him finally take his talents elsewhere. At this point, Fox is making it abundantly clear that he had nothing to do with Sacramento's decision to draft Bagley as the second overall pick in 2018.
Right now, though, I'm pretty sure Fox is happy to link up with his old running mate with the Wildcats. There's going to be a lot of firepower in that Kings backcourt with Monk now in the mix. To be clear, though, Fox did not “advocate” Monk's signing.
