Harrison Barnes of the Sacramento Kings has pledged his loyalty to Team USA. This is after a spate of NBA stars have pulled out from joining the national team in the FIBA World Cup.

Barnes said his health and family go first. However, when those two aspects are good, then it's an automatic yes for him to suit up for the national team

“For me it was pretty simple,” Barnes explained to James Ham of NBC Sports. “Assuming that everything was good with my family and my health is good, my answer to USA Basketball has always been yes. As long as they continue to invite me, as long as I can continue to be here, I’m going to keep coming out here and keep playing.”

A number of NBA stars have backed out from joining Team USA. Some of them have pointed out a lingering injury as their primary reason for not being able to join. A handful, however, said that they would rather focus on the upcoming NBA season.

As a result, the national team had to reach out to several NBA players — even those who are not considered as one of the elites. With that said, analysts have doubts about the capability of this year's severely weakened Team USA.

But as always, only time tell if their predictions are true. No matter where you look at it, Team USA still has plenty of talent and is still the  team to beat.
