Sacramento Kings big man Harry Giles is questionable for his team's game against the Phoenix Suns on Saturday with a left thigh bruise, according to Jason Jones of The Athletic.

Giles, a first-round pick in 2017, suffered the injury in the first half of his team's win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. The worst fears of Kings fans briefly flashed before their eyes when Giles hit the deck and immediately grabbed near his left knee, seemingly indicating further injury to an area on which he's had two surgeries performed since 2013. Sacramento allayed those worries shortly after Giles went to the bench, announcing he'd sustained a thigh bruise, and coach Dave Joerger said after the game that the second-year player's injury was not serious.

Giles, at times ranked the consensus No. 1 player in the high school class of 2016, a group that includes Jayson Tatum, De'Aaron Fox, and former No. 1 pick Markelle Fultz, saw his draft stock take a dip after a freshman season at Duke during which he never quite reached 100 percent. He had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee just before the season tipped off, and was also recovering from an ACL tear in his other knee that cost him his senior season.

In 2018-19, though, Giles has consistently flashed the two-way ability that once made him a can't-miss prospect. Now considered a fixture of the Kings' plans up front along with rookie Marvin Bagley, Giles is averaging 7.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 50.3 percent shooting in 14.1 minutes per game off the bench this season.
