Point guard De'Aaron Fox is in prime position to lead the Sacramento Kings in the future, and NBA general managers surveyed by the league agree he is going to have a breakout year this 2019-20.

The 21-year-old floor general was selected by the Kings with the fifth overall pick in the 2017 draft, and they are certainly happy with the selection. He finished as a runner-up to Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, alongside first-time All-Star guard D'Angelo Russell, in the Most Improved Player award voting last campaign.

Now, in the NBA's annual GM survey, team executives voted Fox No. 1 when asked about which player is most likely to have a “breakout season.”

1. De'Aaron Fox, Sacramento — 19%
2. Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis — 11%
3. Jayson Tatum, Boston — 11%
4. Brandon Ingram, New Orleans — 7%
5. Jamal Murray, Denver — 7%

Fox averaged 17.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game during the 2018-19 season, so he is already on track to be a force in the league.

In addition to his predicted breakout season, Fox is also considered by NBA GMs as the fastest player with the bal, overwhelmingly winning the category at 64 percent. Russell Westbrook came in second behind the third-year guard.

Sacramento finished fourth as the “most promising young core,” and new head coach Luke Walton was among the names for the most impactful “new or relocated” head coach.
