Shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Friday evening, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Sacramento Kings have signed forward Nigel Hayes for the remainder of this season and up to the 2018-19 campaign. With just six games left on their schedule, it seems as though the Kings are still looking to bolster their roster with young talent despite already being eliminated from playoff contention long ago.

Hayes, now 23 years of age, went undrafted out of the University of Wisconsin. The 6-foot-8 Westerville, Ohio native has spent time with the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Toronto Raptors this season. However, he's also served stints in the G-League with the Westchester Knicks and Raptors 905, where he racked up averages of 15 points on 44.4 percent shooting from the field (43.4 percent from beyond the arc), 6.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1..4 steals in 34.0 minutes per game.
The Kings are likely signing Hayes to shore up their presence on the wing — a position that some experts view as their weakest link. Listed at 254 pounds, he's a solid defender, rebounds the ball well and has a smooth shooting stroke.
Not familiar with Nigel's game? That's alright. Just have a go at his G-League highlights. He's a talented guy.
A few of Hayes' former teammates at Wisconsin sent out congratulatory tweets after hearing of the signing.
Nige spent more hours in the gym working on his game than anyone I ever played with. Congrats @NIGEL_HAYES, you EARNED it!! https://t.co/MJPw5YNuq1
