The Sacramento Kings have been one of the most surprising teams of the season. With a 22-21 win-loss record, they are a game behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the final playoff spot in the West.

While there are still a few months to determine the teams that will make the postseason, this is the first time in a long while that the Kings actually have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs.

While most of the credit should be given to De'Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield, who are having career years in leading Sacramento this season, the team's front office believes the coaches should be rewarded as well for what they've been able to accomplish.

According to The Athletic's Sam Amick, the Kings will be picking up the options for all the assistant coaches of the team.

Sources tell @TheAthletic the Kings are in the process of picking up options for next season for Dave Joerger’s assistants & aligning deals w/ head coach: Bryan Gates, Elston Turner, Bob Thornton, Jason March, Duane Ticknor, LaArry Lewis, Bobby Jackson, Phil Ricci, & Dan Hartfield.

It is clear the Kings brass has complete confidence in what Dave Joerger and his staff can do for this team in the near future.

With a promising young core and a set of brilliant minds, the Kings' future seems to be very bright.

It won't be long before Sacramento becomes a contender again. Soon enough, they will be in the same conversation as the Lakers, L.A. Clippers, and the Golden State Warriors for the best team in California.
