Both in need of a swingman to bolster their shooting guard and small forward rotations, the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls have turned their attention to an unrestricted free agent they want to bring in to their fold.

It has been reported that the teams have expressed interest in Justin Holiday, who spent the entirety of last season with the Knicks and appeared in all 82 games for them. According to ESPN's Ian Begley, New York and Chicago are in contact with him, but so far nothing has materialized yet.

“The Knicks are among several teams to have contacted Justin Holiday recently and continue to have strong interest in bringing him back, per league sources. Holiday has drawn interest from several teams, including the Chicago Bulls, since the start of free agency.”

Holiday was part of the trade that sent Derrick Rose to the Knicks last summer, and had his best season as a pro, with career high averages of  of 7.7 points and 2.8 rebounds, to go along with 1.2 assists per game. His ability to defend multiple positions and remain healthy has made his stock rise, which could lead him to his next contract, that has the potential to be long-term.

The 28-year-old Washington product was also linked to the Dallas Mavericks, and there could be more teams emerging as possible destinations for him. For now, he'll have to wait for offers to be extended to him, and see where he'll fit best and have a chance of making the biggest impact next season.
