David Fizdale had his introductory press conference on Tuesday morning in front of the New York Media and was asked a lot of hard-hitting questions and gave a lot of insightful answers.

Fizdale said one the things that really drew him to the Knicks was how they are approaching the rebuild. The Knicks are going through a rebuild, and it isn't going to happen overnight.

Fizdale said one of the things that really stood out talking to Owner James Dolan was that they are accepting that is going to take a rebuild, and they are committed to not skipping a step.

The Knicks have some pieces in place, but they are a long ways off from really competing again in the Eastern Conference.

Coach Fizdale has been known as a players coach and should help attract talent to New York, and he has learned from his mishaps with the Marc Gasol saga.

“I really take ownership of that, where we didn’t necessarily click on things,” Fizdale said via The New York Post. “It’s my responsibility as a coach to get players to buy in and get them to collaborate and come together. For whatever reason we bumped heads on that. But I took that to heart, my wife can tell you better than anyone, I’ve been meeting with some super leaders from all industries. … Just work on getting better and growing from the situation. I am tough on myself and I looked in the mirror.”

Fizdale has learned from his mistakes with that situation the future is starting to look bright again in the Big Apple.
