New York Knicks forward Julius Randle continues to make his case for an All-Star berth this year. The 26-year-old balled out on Monday in MSG against the Atlanta Hawks and dropped a season-high of 44 points–propelled by a career-high seven threes–on top of nine rebounds and five assists.
More importantly, Randle's big night helped the Knicks win their third straight victory.
Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau, who spoke to reporters after the win, expressed his belief that Randle's performance this season warrants him a spot in the East All-Star lineup this 2021. Apart from his incredible numbers in his second year with the Knicks, his contribution and impact to the squad should only make his case better, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN.
Tom Thibodeau says Julius Randle should not only make the All-Star Game because of his personal numbers, but because of the impact on winning he's providing to the Knicks, who have moved to sixth in the East with tonight's win over the Hawks.

Thibodeau adds that he won't call around on Randle's behalf, in part because "a lot of guys frown upon that." Says it will be a tough vote for coaches because there are too many good players for the seven reserve spots available to pick from, but that he hopes Randle gets chosen. https://t.co/BM7JscVDCw

After the 123-112 home win, Randle's Knicks teammates were all-in on his All-Star campaign, too.

The second batch of fan votes for the 2021 All-Star game was released last February 12, but Julius Randle found himself way down on the list of East forwards. He had 387,114 votes, which put him at the eighth spot.

It might have been a pure coincidence but Randle has been a man on a mission since. Although he doesn't really need extra motivation to put up insane numbers on a nightly basis, Randle is taking matters into his own hands with statement game after statement game.
In his last three contests since the release of the latest fan votes, the Knicks forward has posted 30.0 points per game. He has also recorded a 10-of-18 shooting clip from deep while registering a total of 36 boards in the same span.
