It's the middle of August which means Kendrick Perkins is really reaching for any hot takes so that people notice him. On Wednesday's edition of ESPN's First Take, Perkins decided to say the New York Knicks won't advance in the playoffs this upcoming season.

What a tremendous take Perk! Training camp hasn't started, the schedule hasn't been released but let's say the Knicks won't make it out of the first round because it will give me attention. Savvy move.

Also, saying “Carry the hell on” at the end of literally every single tweet he sends out is comically cringe worthy. It's not catchy, it's annoying and he thinks it's some sort of stamp of approval to really bring home his neutered takes.

Will the Knicks make it out of the first round of the playoffs next year? Who the hell knows. But speculating on it in the middle of August when the NBA Summer League finale was literally last night on Tuesday shows how much they are scratching for any sort of content for Perkins.

This is the same guy who called Giannis Antetokounmpo “Robin” to Khris Middleton's “Batman.” The same guy who claimed Deandre Ayton was the next David Robinson. Thank goodness Jalen Rose at least held him accountable even though it got Perk all up in his own feelings.

It was a nice offseason for the Knicks and they added two certified bucket getters in Kemba Walker and Evan Fournier. It won't set the league on fire but it might be good enough to get New York to take the next step. And that's the level-headed, reality of the whole situation.

By the way, from the looks of that video, Perk needs a better internet connection.

Carry the hell on…
