NBA Summer League season is here and the young players are doing whatever they can to crack a spot on the NBA rosters heading into training camp. One player that doesn't need to worry too much is Obi Toppin, the New York Knicks' first-round choice from the 2020 NBA Draft.

Toppin got to work early on Sunday and drew some Slam Dunk Contest flashbacks with a hammer against the Toronto Raptors.

Toppin, of course, is making his first appearance at Summer League after last year's event got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite being a first-round choice for the Knicks, he played sparingly as Tom Thibodeau's team went on to finish as the 4-seed in the Eastern Conference before losing to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Toppin dazzled in this past Slam Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend, and dunks like these remind everybody of his talent and athleticism.

He played in 62 games but averaged just 11 minutes per and 4.1 points a game in a tough rookie season for Toppin. A strong showing in the Summer League could have Toppin in line for more minutes if Thibodeau decides to lean on him.

The Knicks brought in Evan Fournier on a big contract and re-signed Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel, and Derrick Rose, so they should be back in the playoffs barring some unforeseen circumstances.
