New York Knicks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. is in danger of missing Monday’s ball game against the L.A. Clippers because of persistent pain in his left foot.

Hardaway didn’t finish last Friday’s game, a 107-84 road loss to the Toronto Raptors, as he left in the third quarter of the contest due to soreness in his foot and wasn’t able to practice on Sunday, which could be taken as signs that he’ll not be there to help his team on the court versus the Clippers.

When asked about it, Tim Hardaway Jr. didn’t sound too worried about the injury, though he seemed to be prepared to miss at least a game because of it, per Newsday’s Al Iannazzone.

“I think it was just nagging, just nagging pain right there and me continuing to play on it, it got worse,” Hardaway said. “Just not really taking it serious. I’m thinking, ‘I’m strong enough, able enough to go out there and compete so it’s not really that much. I don’t feel nothing as bad so no need for me to get it right.’ But it got worse and worse and worse.

Hardaway, who was the Knicks’ biggest offseason acquisition, is the team’s second-leading scorer behind Kristaps Porzingis. The second-generation NBA player is averaging 17.5 points per game on 41.4 percent shooting percentage.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is currently deemed questionable for Monday, but it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the Knicks eventually rule him out for the Clippers game. If that’s the case, Doug McDermott and Lance Thomas are in line to get a bump in their minutes.
