Point guard remains the area of focus for the New York Knicks heading into the free agency and the draft. There has been no shortage of names linked to the Knicks either via free agency or on the trade market.
One name that has constantly swirled dating back to the trade deadline during the season is Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball.
Ball is set to be a restricted free agent and recent reports suggested it's unlikely the Pelicans will match a big offer sheet if another team sends one the way of Ball. While the Knicks likely remain somewhat in the fold for Ball, it sounds as though their interest level may be dipping down somewhat.
Ian Begley of SNYtv reported that there is “no consensus” amongst the Knicks on Lonzo Ball and how to view him heading into free agency. He also noted there “wasn't a huge appetite” for Ball at the end of the regular season.

Begley went on to note that the Knicks could look for a point guard who excels playing off the ball as well, with Julius Randle dominating a lot of the possession for New York.
Ball is a gifted passer and is really good at setting up his teammates to put them in spots of success on the floor. He's increased his shooting from the perimeter and the free-throw line immensely as well. But perhaps the Knicks could be looking for something else with their next lead point guard.
Expect there to be plenty more reports leading up to the 2021 NBA Draft and then free agency as Leon Rose and Co. look to find their point guard of the future for New York.
