Some of Kevin Durant's former and current teammates believe he will sign with the New York Knicks at the start of free agency, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.
“Some of Durant's former teammates think it's going to happen, per ESPN sources. Several of his current teammates have told friends that they think it's going to happen, sources said. Opposing agents believe it's a fait accompli:
“Just a matter of putting pen to paper,” is how one agent of another top free agent in the 2019 free agent class put it.”
Links to the Knicks have been present since well before the start of the regular season, including his longtime friend and business manager Rich Kleiman, a New York native with aspirations of running the Knicks front office.
However, the involvement of potentially joining forces with Kyrie Irving in The Big Apple further enlarged the rumors that surround him.

Durant said he's yet to make his mind up about his future, yet several front offices (including the L.A. Clippers and the Brooklyn Nets) have already cleared up enough cap space to sign two max-level free agents for the upcoming summer.
The Golden State Warriors forward noted his intent this offseason would be to get as much money as he could potentially get, after years of taking discounts on one-year deals with the Warriors.
Playing for the Knicks would also allow him to escape the shadow of Stephen Curry, a battle he'll likely never win in the Bay Area, as his co-star is widely considered a homegrown product.
