New York Knicks rookie Mitchell Robinson just rejected Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid, not once, but twice.

In their game on Wednesday, the 20-year-old Robinson perfectly timed Embiid's shot attempt in back-to-back plays:

Among rookies, Robinson is the leader in blocked shots per game with 2.03. Overall, he's the sixth in the league which makes him a candidate for one of the NBA All-Defensive Teams.

And against the 76ers, the 20-year-old swatted four shots, along with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals. Most have not heard about Robinson but they better believe that Robinson is going to be one of the top defensive players in the league very soon.

He was picked 36th overall by the Knicks. Despite this, some analysts strongly believe that the 7-foot-1 center is the best shot blocker in his draft class. Some have compared him to the likes of Tyson Chandler and DeAndre Jordan — athletic big men who are a presence on the defensive end.

His career-high in blocks is 10. A feat he achieved on Nov. 2 against the Dallas Mavericks. A look at his game log would reveal multiple games of 5, 6, 7, or 8 blocks in a single game.

Even Embiid, who's known for his trash talking, had this to say after his first-hand experience with Mitchell:

Embiid certainly has a way with words.
