With more time on his hands, his wife Vanessa gave him a Christmas gift that he can use in his spare time. The Los Angeles Lakers‘ legend received George R. R. Martin's series of novels, A Song of Fire and Ice. Mrs. Bryant signed the back of one of the covers with the words “Fly High, Even Bright”.
The novels are one of the most popular on the market today. Selling more than 60 million copies worldwide thanks to the HBO adaptation, Game of Thrones.
For the past 20 years, reading books will have been a far fetched concept for the five-time NBA Champion. Now with time on his side, Kobe Bryant can finally enjoy the simple things in life.
