The Brooklyn Nets finally made the move for James Harden and now they employ three of the best offensive players in the NBA. However, does that now mean they are the favorites instead of the defending Los Angeles Lakers?

On the daily Locked On Lakers Podcast, host Anthony Irwin and Pete Zayas (LakerFilmRoom) reacted to the James Harden trade, then discussed why the Lakers shouldn't be worried about Brooklyn's new Big 3.

Anthony Irwin: The NBA news has been really fun over the last 48 hours or so with James Harden going to the Brooklyn Nets. I think the Lakers are really going to miss his defense in the Western Conference… *laughter* but we're gonna get to it. It's funny, it might be that I'm overconfident because of the way the Lakers are playing right now, and a team with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and James Harden should scare me a little bit, but it doesn't. I'm kind of surprised at how apathetic I am to this move, it doesn't move the needle at all for me. If anything, I'm quite frankly a little nervous for how that's gonna work out from a basketball sense for the Brooklyn Nets…

The idea that KD is going to have a lot of space to attack in isolation, Kyrie is going to have a lot of space to attack in isolation, James Harden is going to have a lot of space to attack in isolation, the picking roles between or the picking pops between KD and Kyrie or KD and James Harden is also intriguing that that from an offensive standpoint. There are ways that I think they're gonna look really, really good at times. I just think this is a tough thing to figure out mid-season during a shortened season. A shortened season that James Harden came into out of shape. So he's going to be trying to get into shape as he's working out the kinks with these other guys, and Kyrie's missing games. There was a stretch where the Nets legitimately didn't know where Kyrie was, that was a thing.
