Alex Caruso reveals LeBron James ‘didn’t know’ who he was before Lakers career

Lakers-LeBron-James-Alex-Caruso

Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso has been seeing quite a bit of playing time this postseason, which has come as a surprise to many. Because Caruso doesn’t fit the mold of the typical NBA player as someone passing him on the street probably wouldn’t guess that he was a professional basketball player for a living, not only has his increase in playing time been a bit surprising but also his production.

With Alex Caruso’s emergence, this postseason continuing to serve as one of the more intriguing stories from down in Orlando, the up-and-coming Lakers guard has received more and more attention from the media as well.

Thanks to his relatively unknown persona to the casual NBA prior to his time with the Lakers, Caruso has even admitted that one of his teammates didn’t know who he was prior to his arrival in Los Angeles. Caruso has revealed that superstar forward LeBron James didn’t know who he was before they were teammates.

“He definitely didn’t know who I was,” Caruso recently told Ben Cohen of The Wall Street Journal.

James certainly knows who Caruso is now as this tandem has been producing in a big way — even before this postseason got underway. Lineups that feature both Caruso and James have outscored opponents by 9.1 points per 100 possessions, which dates all the way back to the 2018-19 season as well. Not only that,  but Caruso and James’ two-man net rating of 18.6 is better than any figure that “King James” has ever tallied with a teammate in his career.
